Building Strong Catholic Families
The family is the heart of the Church and the foundation of society.
Dayton Council 500 is committed to supporting Catholic families by encouraging faith at home, strengthening marriages, building friendships, and creating opportunities for families to grow together.
Our Family programs help members live out their vocation as husbands, fathers, grandfathers, and faithful disciples of Christ.
Family Activities
Throughout the year, Council 500 sponsors and supports family-centered activities such as:
- Thanksgiving Dinner
- Parish Festivals
- Monthly Membership Meal
- Family of the Year
- Family Picnics
- Christmas Celebrations
- Community Gatherings
These events provide opportunities for fellowship while strengthening relationships among our parish families.
Family of the Year
Each year, Council 500 recognizes a family whose example of faith, service, and commitment reflects the principles of the Knights of Columbus.
The Family of the Year reminds us that the domestic church begins in the home.
Supporting Families
Council 500 encourages members to:
- Pray together as a family.
- Attend Mass together.
- Participate in parish life.
- Serve together.
- Support one another during times of joy and hardship.
Strong families build strong parishes.
Monthly Membership Meal
The Monthly Membership Meal is one of the ways we strengthen fraternity within Council 500.
Members are encouraged to bring their families and to invite Catholic men who may be interested in learning more about the Knights of Columbus.
Sharing a meal together helps build friendships that extend beyond our meetings.
